PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cytostatic agent, a cell differentiation inducing agent and an apoptosis inducing agent exerting cytostatic effects, cell differentiation inducing effects and apoptosis inducing effects for cancer cells or abnormal cells, and to provide methods for producing the same.;SOLUTION: Each of the cytostatic agent, the cell differentiation inducing agent and the apoptosis inducing agent contains quinic acid derivatives such as 4,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid, 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid, 3,4-dicaffeoylquinic acid and 3,4,5-tricaffeoylquinic acid [sequentially, corresponding to peak (a) to (d) in the figure]. The quinic acid derivatives are preferably obtained by performing an extraction step for obtaining propolis extracts from propolis raw lumps and a separation step for separating from the propolis extracts by using reversed phase liquid chromatography carrier. In the extraction step, 10-40 vol.% hydrous alcohol is used, and in the separation step, ≥50 vol.% hydrous alcohol is preferably used.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
