PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect the origin of the swinging direction and the swinging angle of an ultrasonic element even when using a soft matter for material of a window so as to transmit ultrasonic waves without providing an origin detection means such as an encoder.;SOLUTION: The thickness of the window 2 is differentiated from the swinging direction of the ultrasonic element 1, and a difference between the time of reflected echo from the inner surface of the window and that from the outer surface is measured to detect the swinging angle of the ultrasonic element.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
