PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel solid catalyst prevented from being deteriorated/decomposed and made easy to separate/reutilize after reaction using an oxygen molecule as an oxidizing agent, and capable of obtaining industrially useful propylene oxide in an enhanced yield, and a manufacturing method of industrially useful propylene oxide using the catalyst. PSOLUTION: The solid catalyst is constituted by fixing a metal peroxide (i) and a noble metal compound (ii) on a meso-porous body. Propylene and a molecular oxygen-containing gas are brought into contact with each other/oxidized preferably in a methanol solvent using this catalyst to obtain propylene oxide. The catalyst after reaction can be simply recovered by filtering. The recovered catalyst is again used in the oxidation of propylene to synthesize propylene oxide in a high yield without being deteriorated. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
