RECOVERING METHOD OF SYSTEM INTRINSIC INFORMATION OF MEDIUM STORAGE APPARATUS AND MEDIUM STORAGE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive a command from a host system even if a reading error of system intrinsic information occurs, in a medium storage apparatus wherein system intrinsic information is read out from a medium to a memory and reading/writing operation to the medium is performed.;SOLUTION: When an error occurs in a process for reading out system intrinsic information after a power source of the medium storage apparatus (1) is turned on, alternative data stored in a medium (19) are developed and the power-on error is artificially recovered. Data at factory shipment are previously preserved in a system region (19A) of a ROM or the medium (19) to form alternative data and the alternative data are developed from the system region if needed.
