PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of a natural circulation type cooing device, and the natural circulation type cooling device capable of preventing generation of reverse circulation of a refrigerant even when a supercritical fluid is used as the refrigerant.;SOLUTION: This control method has a process for detecting whether a reverse circulation generating condition where the refrigerant flows from a heat source-side heat exchanger 1 toward gas piping 4 or flows from a load-side heat exchanger 2 toward liquid piping 3, exists or not, a process for changing heat exchanging quantity in one or both of the heat source-side heat exchanger 1 and the load-side heat exchanger 2 when the reverse circulation generating condition is determined, and a process for recovering the original heat exchanging quantity after a prescribed time. The determination of the reverse circulation generating condition is implemented on the basis of a temperature (TH1) of a cold heat medium supplied to the heat source-side heat exchanger 1, the temperature difference between the temperature (TH1) and a temperature (TH2) of a hot heat medium supplied to the load-side heat exchanger 2, and the temperature difference between a temperature (TH3) near a lowermost portion of a load-side heat transfer pipe 21 and a temperature (TH4) near its uppermost portion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
