TUBE FOR RAIL INSULATED JOINT, INSULATED JOINT STRUCTURE, AND INSULATED JOINT FASTENING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail insulated joint structure and its method for preventing the accident of the improper insulation of a bonded insulated rail while maintaining low cost in total to keep the same assembly work hours as a conventional method.;SOLUTION: When a pair of joint plates 2 are provided in an insulating manner by covering an insulating material on both side faces of the end of a butting part of a pair of rails 1 abutted through the insulating material 10 and these joint plates and the rails are fastened with bolts 5 and nuts 6 to form the insulated joint structure, they are fastened with the bolts and the nuts while a tube 9 made of elastic rubber having an insulation property or plastic having rubber elasticity and an insulation property is inserted into a bolt hole so that the tube adheres closely to the inner peripheral face of the bolt hole and an exposed face where the bolt and the nut oppose each other in the bolt hole. Consequently, the intrusion of water into the bolt hole from a bolt hole fringe and the accident of improper insulation by it are prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
