MINERAL SUPPLEMENT FOR WATER AREA, ALGA REEF BLOCK AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for supplying minerals for promoting the growth of aquatic plants such as a vegetal plankton, water grass, sea weed, etc., to produce a algae reef block for growing water grass or sea weed on its surface and increasing the number of growing aquatic animals at a low cost and to lay them in the sea for improving an ecosystem in water to increase the amount of fishery harvest. PSOLUTION: This mineral supplement is produced by adding a mixture consisting of powdery or granular solid containing vitrified blast furnace slag having 1.4 basicity, ferrous oxide, calcium oxide and silicon oxide compounds, and calcium hydroxide powder into water to form aggregates by forming hydrates among granules and aggregating. By installing the above in water, ferrous ions and silicate ions are released for helping the growth of silicic plankton, sea weed, water grass, etc. Also, there is a case that the mixture of powder and granules of a solid containing the compounds of ferrous oxide, calcium oxide and silicon oxide obtained by the aging treatment of the coagulated steel forming slag, and calcium hydroxide powder are used as the raw materials.
