PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for testing a performance of an ink jet recording material, which can rapidly and precisely guarantee application quality, even in the case of an ink jet recording material to which coating liquid is applied in piles.;SOLUTION: In the method for testing the performance of the ink jet recording material 1, a first coating liquid A which includes a hydrophilic binder and fine particles in order to form a porous layer 3, is applied onto a support member 2, and a second coating liquid B which has a prescribed function and such a property that responses to specific light are different in accordance with whether the application is carried, is applied onto the first coating liquid applied surface, and then the ink jet recording material to which the above two coating liquids are applied, is irradiated with the specific light, and reactions to the light are detected, thereby determining whether the second coating liquid has been applied uniformly.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
