PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance welding structure of a pipe and a plate material and a resistance welding method, wherein improvement in welding quality is attained and reduction of manufacturing cost is expected.;SOLUTION: A plate material 5 and a pipe 1 are pressurized and energized between upper and lower electrodes 11, 12 so as to be subjected to resistance welding in a state in which the tip end 7a of a projection 7 formed on the body 6 of the plate material 5 projectingly in the direction to be pressurized by the upper electrode 11 and the lower electrode 12 is brought into contact with the pipe 1. At the time of the resistance welding, a suitable contact can be obtained between the tip end 7a of the projection 7 and the pipe 1 by a comparatively small pressurizing force, enabling distortion and local deformation of the pipe 1 to be avoided which are caused by the pressurizing force. Also, in the initial stage of applying power, heat generation is concentrated on the tip end 7a of the projection 7 to locally melt the tip end 7a and the pipe 1, which suppresses the distortion of the pipe due to its own heat generation, so that reliability of the welding quality is improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
