PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable recognizing, for example, characters pattern formed with blue on a red base of background.;SOLUTION: The color adjustment system of a color camera for adjusting colors is provided with an image sensor 102 for converting red, green and blue components of an image into electric signals; amplifier units 103, 104, 105 for amplifying the electric signals of red, green and blue components, respectively; luminance computing unit 116 for obtaining luminance from the amplified electric signal; maximum luminance storage unit 113 for storing the maximum luminance of the amplified electric signals; minimum luminance storage unit 114 for storing the minimum luminance of the amplified electric signals; luminance difference storage unit 115 for storing the difference between the stored maximum luminance and minimum luminance as the maximum luminance difference; and maximum luminance difference acquiring color adjustment unit 117 for setting an amplification rate for amplifying the electric signals of the red, green and blue components at the minimum value, setting one of the amplification rates at the maximum value, and performing color adjustment to acquire the maximum luminance difference between figures.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
