PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method for an electric discharge electrode, preventing abnormal discharge to the surface of a workpiece and preventing transfer of a tool mark.;SOLUTION: Particles 10μm to 70μm formed of single material such as glass, metal, quartz and marble or mixed material of the single materials are mixed with compressed air of 0.1bar to 1.0bar. The compressed air mixed with the particles is sprayed to an electric discharge electrode of a machined shape to remove burr at the corner or in the tool mark existing in the electric discharge electrode. Further, regulated projecting and recessed surfaces serving as a spark point of starting electric discharge is increased in the surface of the electric discharge electrode. Thus, an electric discharge electrode of a complicated machined shape, which has not been accomplished by manual work, is realized.
