PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum seawater desalting method and an apparatus therefor which solve problems of scale formation, energy consumption, and pollution.;SOLUTION: Salt water is made to pass through a two stage membrane nano filtration unit, where an energy recovering turbo-charger unit is disposed between stages, and if necessary, a booster pump is added. A first water product where the content of ionic species is reduced, and microorganisms, particulate matter and almost all of scale-forming hard ions are removed is made from an NF (nano-filtration) product obtained by mixing a first and second NF products. Subsequently, the first water product is made to pass through a two stage SWRO ((sewage reverse osmosis) SWRO2) where an energy recovering TC is disposed between stages and, if necessary, a booster pump is added. A final second water product (permeate), and a third SWRO water product brine waste where salinity as quality of drinking water is increased and scale-forming hard ions are drastically reduced are produced from a mixture of the products from the two SWRO stages.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
