PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for constructing an arch support for increasing the width of a tunnel capable of continuously, efficiently, and economically constructing the arch support extended from the outer periphery of the tunnel without occupying a ground site and simultaneously on the rear side even during the construction of the tunnel and further capable of not only securely stabilizing earth and maintaining the level of underwater but also stably securing a heading without loosening the earth during the construction.;SOLUTION: An arch type tunnel boring machine 3 is started from a start lateral 1 excavated starting at the tunnel is advanced, and while slitting the earth in an arch shape by propelling the arch type boring machine by a propelling jack 3 through segments 5 assembled in an arch shape, the segments are sequentially pushed into the arch slit 4 to construct the arch support C1 formed of the segments.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
