PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aerosol of insulin suitable for lung administration and a composition therefor. PSOLUTION: The aerosolizing method comprises a step to supply a dry powder of insulin, a step to prepare the aerosol by dispersing a certain amount of the dry powder into gas stream and a step to put the aerosol into a chamber with a mouthpiece, and is characterized by the dry powder with water content of 5 wt% or less and the average particle size of 10 m or smaller. Also, an adjustment method, which comprises a step to prepare a solution by dissolving insulin in an aqueous buffer, and a step to prepare a substantially amorphous particle with the average particle size of 10 m or smaller by spray-drying the said solution so that the water content of the dry powder of insulin is 5 wt% or less, is provided.
