PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrifying roller capable of performing uniform electrification even in the case of outputting a high-definition image, for example, 600dpi halftone image by a DC electrifying method after it is exposed to severe high-temperature and high-humidity environment, and to provide an electrifying method, a process cartridge and an electrophotographic device using the electrifying roller.;SOLUTION: In the electrifying roller having at least a core bar 1 composed of steel material and a conductive elastic body 2 on the core bar, the surface of the steel material is covered with nickel plating free from a pinhole.
