METHOD OF CHECK AND REPAIR FOR COOLING TOWER REFRACTORY OF COKE DRY QUENCHING EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to secure safety of workmen at the time of check and repair of refractory inside the cooling tower of coke dry quenching equipment and to enable the work to finish within a short period.;SOLUTION: The procedure is conducted as follows: stopping the charge of red-hot coke into the inside of the cooling tower, discharging the coke existing at the time from the cooling tower while cooling to lower the coke level in the cooling tower to a predetermined level, charging already cooled coke into the cooling tower up to a targeted coke level and the check of refractory and repair of damaged part are conducted from the upper part of the cooling tower. Alternatively, the already cooled coke may be charged into the cooling tower after whole coke existing in the cooling tower is discharged while cooling.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
