PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable material that contracts in the volume only in a slight degree in polymerization and can be cured by visible light in a short time at room temperature. PSOLUTION: This dental material polymerizable by ring-opening metathesis polymerization comprises (i) at least one kind of ruthenium complex having at least one N-heterocyclic carbene ligand or a precursor to generate in situ at least the one kind of ruthenium complex having the N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, and (ii) at least one kind of metathesizable cycloolefin.
