PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a background replacement apparatus, a background replacement program, a background replacement program storage medium, and a background replacement method for executing background replacement while suppressing an image unsuitable for exhibition to a customer from being viewed by the customer. PSOLUTION: The background replacement apparatus includes: an image acquisition section 710 for acquiring a plurality of photographed images obtained by photographing a common object under a plurality of respective photographing conditions; an image storage section 740 for storing a plurality of the photographed images acquired by the image acquisition section 710 to a hard disk unit 213; a background replacement section 730 for replacing a follow light photographed image with another background on the basis of a plurality of the photographed images to generate a background replaced image; and an image display section 770 that uses a default replaced image wherein the background of the follow light photographed image is replaced with a default background as a display image, makes the background replacement section 730 store the display image in cross-reference with a plurality of the photographed images to the hard disk unit 213, and displays the default replaced image.
