PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify and downsize a structure of a optical submarine repeater housing.;SOLUTION: A fiber pull-out hole 3a for pulling out lead fibers 5 led out of coated optical fibers 2 of submarine optical cables 10 and an internal device are prepared in the outer periphery 4a of a circuit unit 4 formed in a pressure container of the optical submarine repeater; the secondary coated optical fiber 2 and the lead fiber 5 are pulled out of the pull-out hole 3a; a connection part is formed by connecting the pulled-out fibers to each other with a predetermined excessive connection length; and this connection part is fixed to a connection holder 4b formed on the side face of the circuit unit. Then, the excessive connection length of the coated optical fibers are housed in a housing part 4c provided in the circumferential direction of the circuit unit so as to be taken up. Thus, the excessive length storage compartment is consolidated to one place, the pressure container is shortened, and the repeater housing is downsized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
