CONVERGENCE ACCELERATION METHOD IN SELF-CONSISTENT CALCULATION USING EXTERNAL STORAGE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is impossible to reduce the number of iterations required for convergence by utilizing numerical data of already resolved nonlinear equations sharing many terms with a nonlinear equation in new calculation when obtaining a solution of this nonlinear equation by self-consistent calculation, because it is difficult to store huge numerical data constituting solutions of nonlinear equations in an external storage device.;SOLUTION: Numerical data constituting solutions of nonlinear equations is preserved in an external storage device having a capacity increased considerably and is used for constituting initial values in new self-consistent calculation to reduce the number of iterations required for convergence.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
