SEAT USAGE STATUS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm whether or not seats are used with valid railway tickets while saving power as much as possible.;SOLUTION: A seat usage status management system is provided with: a reader/writer (3) installed in accordance with seats and for reading and writing data by communicating with a portable information processing medium for storing railway ticket information; display means (3a, 3b and 3c) installed in accordance with the seats and for changing display modes according to the usage state the seats and the validity/invalidity of the use of the seats under the control of the reader/writer; and a seat management device (2) for acquiring operation information from the position information system (1), and for transmitting/receiving information with the reader/writer.
