PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which can efficiently be manufactured and can control optical modulation irrelevantly to specification and individual differences of a color separation section.;SOLUTION: In the projector equipped with the color separation section 2 having a color wheel 20 splitting a white color light into lights of a plurality of colors, an optical modulation section 13 which optically modulates the lights color-split by the color wheel 20 based upon image data, and a projection section 1 which is configured to project the optically modulated lights, the color separation section 2 is equipped with a storage portion 22 which stores data regarding characteristics of the color separation section 2 and a control portion 10 of the projection section 1 reads the data out of the storage portion 22 and controls the optical modulation by the optical modulation section 13 so that the colors of the color-split lights and the colors of the optically modulated lights correspond to each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
