PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus having a function of suppressing a stripe noise caused by an object with high luminance that can execute more proper processing.;SOLUTION: A pixel array dependent average detection section 254 extracts a pixel array dependent average signal S14 corresponding to the stripe noise caused by the object with high luminance. An average detection section 252 detects a dark current component and a background signal suppression processing section 256 suppresses the component. A coring processing section 258 suppresses the dispersion component of an OB pixel signal, a grip processing section 260 inactivates part of a coring processing signal S16 that is a prescribed level or over, and a low pass filter processing section 262 eliminates a high frequency component included in a grip processing signal S17. A correction amount adjustment section 264 varies a correction level corresponding to the strip noise in response to a signal level of the stripe noise to produce a stripe noise correction signal S19. Using the stripe noise correction signal S19 to suppress the stripe noise solves a noise component left uncorrected or over correction of the noise component and realizes proper stripe noise suppression.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
