PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of remotely controlling an electronic device using a universal remote controller, and the universal remote controller. PSOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: providing a universal remote controller; establishing a communication link between the universal remote controller and a first electronic device and causing the universal remote controller to acquire a broadcast list from the first electronic device through the communication link, wherein the broadcast list contains at least one or more broadcast items; causing the universal remote controller to execute classification upon the broadcast list on the basis of attributes of respective broadcast items; and causing the universal remote controller to receive an operating command through an input device on the basis of the broadcast list after classification and causing the universal remote controller to transmit a corresponding radio signal command of the operating commands to a second electronic device on the basis of the operating command.
