PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hollow silica microcapsules having a narrow pore diameter distribution and using a pore forming wall material having a zeolite structure.;SOLUTION: The hollow silica microcapsules are manufactured through (A) a step of obtaining a W/O type emulsion by mixing an aqueous solution containing a silicate of an alkali metal with an organic solvent and a surfactant; (B) a step of forming hollow silica microcapsules by mixing the obtained emulsion with an aqueous solution containing the ammonium salt of an inorganic acid or the like; (C) a step of washing the hollow silica microcapsules with water without carrying out alcohol cleaning and then drying and firing those; (D) a step of impregnating an aqueous solution containing a structure regulating agent into the fired hollow silica microcapsules; (E) a step of carrying out a hydrothermal synthesis reaction by heating the hollow silica microcapsules with the impregnated aqueous solution containing the structure regulating agent to a crystallization temperature of the zeolite; and (F) a step of removing the structure regulating agent from the hollow silica microcapsules after the hydrothermal synthesis reaction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
