SEISMIC RESPONSE CONTROL BRACE AND ARCHITECTURAL STRUCTURE USING THIS BRACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic response control brace without buckling even if repetitive axial force of compression and tension is applied to an axial force pipe.;SOLUTION: Crevice joints 30a and 30b are installed via mouthpieces 32a and 32b on both ends of the axial force pipe 22 for coaxially connecting a thick pipe 24 and a thin pipe 26. Stiffening pipes 36 and 38 for checking buckling by yield of the axial force pipe 22, are concentrically installed in the thin pipe 26 side mouthpiece 32b at an interval between the stiffening pipes and the axial force pipe 22 on both the inside and outside on the thin pipe 26 side of the axial force pipe 22.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
