PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement assisting device used by an elderly person, a physically handicapped person or the like when moving along a corridor, in a bathroom or the like.;SOLUTION: Most of prior handrails have many restrictions because they are arranged horizontally and are fixed on the walls. On the contrary, the movement assisting device uses a handrail extendable and contractible in the longitudinal axis direction and a rail running in the upper space.
