PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a ceramic which provides the electromagnetic shielding effect and the negative ion generation effect at the same time, and to provide a glaze composition used for the same.;SOLUTION: The glaze composition is prepared by adding and mixing a mixture of ferrite with carbon in a glaze component obtained by mixing a powdery negative ion generating body with a glaze raw material for the ceramic. The excellent electromagnetic shielding effect and the excellent negative ion generation effect are imparted to the ceramic by applying the glaze composition onto the surface of the ceramic and firing. The mixing ratio of the ferrite to the carbon is (6:4)-(5:5) and the ratio of the negative ion generating powder in the glaze component is preferably 2-10 wt%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
