PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer having an ionic group, and further having excellent proton conductivity and fuel-blocking properties; to provide a polymer electrolyte material comprising the polymer; and to provide a polymer electrolyte-type fuel battery having high output and high energy capacity by using a polymer electrolyte part or a membrane electrode composite obtained by using them. PSOLUTION: The polymer having the ionic group has 0.2-0.995 P defined by equation (F1): P=B/A (wherein, A is the whole number of ionic groups possessed by 1g dried weight of the polymer; and B is the number of ionic groups bonded to an aromatic ring having an electron attractive group in the A). The polymer electrolyte material, the polymer electrolyte part, the membrane electrode composite and the polymer electrolyte-type fuel battery are constituted by using the polymer having the ionic group.
