CARBON FIBER BUNDLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING GRAPHITE FIBER BUNDLE BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber bundle having excellent quality and property suitable for graphitization by effectively removing silicon oxide, a metal oxide and the like at a firing step of the carbon fiber bundle; and to provide a method for producing a graphite fiber bundle by using the carbon fiber bundle.;SOLUTION: The carbon fiber bundle has 200-450 GPa strand modulus measured based on a resin-impregnated strand-testing method of JIS R7601, and satisfies each of the following conditions (1) to (3): (1) the product of the strand modulus (GPa) measured based on the resin-impregnated strand-testing method of JIS R7601, and a strand strength (GPa) is ≥2,000; (2) the Si content based on the measuring method described in the specification is ≤200 ppm; and (3) the Si ratio (Si_2P/C_1S) on the carbon fiber surface measured by the measuring method described in the specification is ≤0.02.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
