PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground embedded object protection plate arranged above an embedded object such as cable, conduit embedded underground, quickly and visually informing a worker that a distal end part of a cutting work machine entered underground from ground surface reaches the protection plate and effectively making the work recognize degree of emergency of stopping cutting work.;SOLUTION: A storing body 24 enclosing water soluble coloring agent is fixed on a plate surface of the underground embedded object protection plate 10. The storing body is broken by the cutting work machine entered underground from ground surface and coloring agent is discharged. The coloring agent dissolves in water used for cutting work and is diffused to color a working section.
