PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display abnormal perfusion, perfusion reduction, or an abnormal area in parenchymal tissue with high luminance and so to provide a 3D map visualization technique capable of identifying pulmonary embolus or other abnormalities. PSOLUTION: The subject 3D visualizing method for both lungs enables the segmentization of the image data of both lungs and lung parenchymal tissue to form a 3D map as a function of the segmented image data, and to render the 3D map as a translucent 3D volume which is color-coded, so that the subject area is highlighted by an opaque area.
