PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical microscopic device capable of acquiring an accurate image, even when performing the shift of focus to various samples, and to provide a method for restoring an object image from a scanning type optical microscope image.;SOLUTION: The scanning optical microscopic device is equipped with a light source, a wave front converting element to apply optional wave front conversion to illuminating light emitted from the light source, a controller to control the wave front converting element, a luminous flux scanning means to make the illuminating light, after the wave front conversion emitted from the wave front converting element perform scanning in directions orthogonal to each other, an objective to condense the illuminating light whose advancing direction is changed by the luminous flux scanning means onto an object, and a detector to detect signal light emitted from the object. In the microscope, the image is restored, based on a signal detected by the detector in the case of making the condensed luminous flux on the object perform the scanning. Then, the three-dimensional volume data of the object is generated by using a plurality of images acquired, when the focal plane of the condensed luminous flux is moved by the controller.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
