PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure discriminating method of a pressure accumulating fuel injector, and a failure discriminating device of the pressure accumulating fuel injector, capable of accurately discriminating failure of a common rail pressure sensor for detecting common rail internal pressure of the pressure accumulating fuel injector from failure of the other part.;SOLUTION: When a pressure detecting signal of the pressure sensor 13 is always outputted as a low value, when continuing with a state of indicating that the pressure detecting signal is " less than fuel injectable pressure " in cranking operation of an engine, the cranking operation is performed in a state of prohibiting fuel injection from an injector. Afterwards, the fuel injection from the injector is started, and when the engine is normally started, such discrimination is made that the pressure sensor 13 causes failure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
