PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for detecting biomolecular interaction capable of detecting precisely the biomolecular interaction.;SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a prism 1, a specimen detecting means 2 having a metal thin film and a specimen detecting layer on a prism surface, a laser generating means 3, and the first and second photodetecting means 5, 6. The specimen detecting layer contains a linear polymer material coupled with a fluorescent molecule and an antibody in one terminal part, the other terminal part of the polymer material is immobilized to the polymer material, and the biomolecule interaction detector detects the reflection intensity of a laser beam incident into the thin film at the first incident angle from the laser generating means 3, by the first photodetecting means 5, and detects fluorescence output from the fluorescent molecule excited with plasmon light generated by the laser beam incident into the thin film at the second incident angle from the laser generator 3, by the second photodetecting means 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
