PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the total time required for completing transmission of data from a data transmission terminal to all data reception terminals, regarding a data transmission system and a data transmission method for performing format conversion of the data and transmission of the data to which the format conversion is applied to a plurality of terminals.;SOLUTION: A terminal 10 being a master groups the plurality of terminals 11 being slaves into one or more groups, determines format conversion methods of transmitted data by every group 13 of the terminals 11 being the slaves, performs the format conversion of the data by every group 13 using the determined format conversion methods and transmits the data to which the format conversion is applied.
