PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interpolated image generating method, with which an interpolation image can accurately be generated, for images that contain minute structures. PSOLUTION: The interpolation image generating method for generating the interpolation image of a monochromatic image includes a first moving body image generating step of generating a first moving body image included in a first image frame; a second moving body image generating step of generating a second moving body image included in a second image frame; and an interpolation moving body image generating step of generating an interpolation moving body image for interpolating an image between the first moving body image and the second moving body image on the basis of the first moving body image generated in the first moving body image generating step and the second moving body image generated in the second moving body image generating step.
