PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument that can precisely measure the depth of a sagittal depth of an optical element.;SOLUTION: This depth measuring instrument for bringing a probe into contact with a sagittal part of a lens to be inspected to measure the sagittal depth in a position where a value gets maximum, is provided with a measuring block 1 for mounting the lens to be inspected, sagittal depth measuring means 4, 8, 10 arranged below the measuring table 1 and for moving the probe 4 vertically to measure the sagittal depth, a lens to be inspected holding means 11 arranged above the measuring block 1 to hold the inspected lens, an XY-stage 16 for moving the lens holding means 11 along two horizontal directions orthogonal to each other, and image observing means 18, 19, 20, 22 arranged on the measuring table 1 to magnify an image of the inspected lens.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
