PSOLUTION: The image data generator is provided with a first selection means for selecting the image, from which a user desires to extract color information on the basis of the results of the use of an input device from among images outputted to an output device, a means to designate a specific region for color information extraction which designates the specific region in the image selected with the first selection means, a color information extraction means for extracting the color information from the designated specific region, a second selection means for selecting an image to which the user desires to apply the extracted color information on the basis of the results of the use of the input device, a means to designate a specific region for color information application which designates the specific region for color information application to which the user desires to apply the color information in the image selected with the second selection means, and a recording means for recording the extracted color information and the designated specific region for color information application as the attribute information of the image in a metadata region or a metadata file different from that of the image date of the image selected with the first selection means.
