The system and method are disclosed for providing support and power to it. One embodiment includes an elongated member configured to provide power to the device supporting the equipment is connected to the structure. The connecting member is operable to support the equipment to engage the power bus or elongated member. The connecting member is operative to reposition the device on the structure and is moved to the second position from the first position along the elongated member. In one embodiment, the elongated member is configured to supply power to the device by substantially continuously during movement of the coupling member along the elongated member.
