MEASUREMENT NOISE REDUCTION FOR SIGNAL QUALITY EVALUATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce only noise induced by a measurement system for a signal in order to more accurately evaluate signal quality.;SOLUTION: Disclosed are systems and methods for providing measurement noise reduction when making signal quality evaluation measurements. Embodiments operate to obtain a signal sample including measurement system induced noise as well as network system induced noise, obtain a noise profile of the measurement system induced noise, and optionally obtain information with respect to interfaces used in coupling the measurement system to the network system. The foregoing signal sample, noise profile and information, or some portion thereof, is used by embodiments to perform noise cancellation wherein the measurement system induced noise is canceled without substantially affecting the network system induced noise, thereby providing an accurate signal sample for signal quality evaluation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
