PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorption amount detector capable of detecting an adsorption amount of an adsorbed substance onto an adsorption detecting material by a balance, allowing easy and accurate detection, and capable of detecting quantitatively a weight increase due to the adsorption of the adsorbed substance onto the adsorption detecting material, even in the detection by the balance. PSOLUTION: In this adsorption amount detector, the weight increase due to the adsorption of the adsorbed substance onto the adsorption detecting material 1 arranged in gas containing the adsorbed substance is converted into a positional change of the adsorption detecting material 1, and the positional change is detected to judge a level of the weight increase in the adsorption detecting material 1. A mechanism for changing a position of the adsorption detecting material 1 is the balance 2, the balance 2 holds the adsorption detecting material 1 in one end of a beam 3 of the balance 2, and is provided with a mechanism of changing the position of the adsorption detecting material 1 in accompaniment to the weight increase of the adsorption detecting material 1, and of changing continuously the position of the adsorption detecting material 1 in response to the weight increase of the adsorption detecting material 1.
