PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a hair cafe composition containing a polymer prepared from N-vinylacetamide (NVAM) monomer and to provide a method for treating hair with the hair care composition. ;SOLUTION: This hair care composition contains an essentially uncross-linked polymer in an amount effective in providing the hair care composition having properties selected from the group consisting of hair fixative and hair conditioning properties. The polymer is selected from a homopolymer prepared from an N-vinylacetamide monomer and an interpolymer prepared from the N- vinylacetamide monomer and a vinyl monomer. The composition further contains an ingredient selected from the group consisting of a conditioning agent, a rheological modifier, an opacifier, a stabilizer, an emulsifier, a preservative, a sequestering agent, a pearling agent, a clarifying agent, a fragrance, a colorant, a propellant, an organic solvent and water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
