PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latent heat storage material containing a heat conductive auxiliary agent, having advantageous characteristics like expanded graphite, but having no weak point in production and processing, and to provide a method for producing the same and a heat storage device using the same. PSOLUTION: This invention relates to the method for producing the latent heat storage material comprising a composite material formed of a phase-change material and graphite particles incorporating graphite flakes comprising natural graphite and/or synthetic graphite having a high anisotropy of thermal conductivity and a high aspect ratio. The volume content of graphite flakes in the latent heat storage material is between 10 and 40%. The above composite material can be obtained by mixing the components, i.e., infiltrating a bed containing the graphite flakes with the liquid phase-change material. The graphite flakes are preferably aligned during mixing with the phase-change material by shaking or tamping, or the like, so that the thermal conductivity is oriented in the direction that is maximally advantageous for the individual application.
