PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the permittivity of a sample inexpensively and simply, dispensing with a network analyzer, an expensive measuring instrument, and without measuring the standard of the amplitude of a reflection coefficient by a metal plate. ;SOLUTION: This device is composed of a millimeter-wave source 1 for oscillating electromagnetic waves in a millimeter-wave zone, a polarizer 2 for changing the millimeter-wave into a linearly polarized wave, a sample to be measured 3, a detector 4 for detecting the reflected millimeter-wave, a motor 5 for rotating the detector 4 on the axis of the millimeter-wave, a motor driver 7 for driving the motor 5 controlled by an operating device 6, and a preamplifier 8 for amplifying the signal from the detector 4 and for transmitting it to the operating device 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
