PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve system for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine and a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine control device providing difference of valve characteristics among cylinders with a simple structure.;SOLUTION: An intermediate drive mechanism 120 capable of adjusting valve characteristics is provided for cylinders #2, #3 but a fake intermediate drive mechanism 121 with which valve characteristics is fixed is provided for cylinders #1, #4. Consequently even if valve characteristics is adjusted by the intermediate drive mechanism for the cylinder #2, #3, different valve characteristics among the cylinders can be easily provided since valve characteristics for the cylinders #1, #4 are fixed and don't change. The fake intermediate drive mechanism 121 is mechanically simple since valve characteristics are fixed and a structure of the variable valve mechanism itself becomes simple since valve characteristics are adjusted by same drive quantity of two intermediate drive mechanism 120 for the cylinder #2, #3 by one control shaft.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
