PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and properly control insect pests, harmful animals, and the like, injurious to growth of protected animals, farm crops, and the like.;SOLUTION: A rope is formed by twisting a white rope-like organic fiber A made by decolorizing a natural organic fiber with a decolorizing agent and a red rope-like organic fiber B made by dying the organic fiber A with a red dye. The rope 5a for insect control in which two colors are formed is constituted by impregnating the rope with a single essential plant oil extract or a blend of several kinds of the essential plant oil extracts of herbs. A rope device for insect control is constituted by spreading the rope for insect control around the periphery of an orchard, or the like, in one step or several steps through poles at the height depending on life styles of the insect pests, harmful birds and the harmful animals. The repellent function to the insect pests, and the like, by the red color out of the organic fibers A and B constituting the rope for insect control and the stimulating odd odor generated from the impregnated herb extracts and the like in the rope give the insect pests repellent effects.
