PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical method for reducing the volume of uranium waste by collecting and removing residual uranium from a spent alumina fluid medium generated by a uranium oxidation reactor of a fluid bed style in a process for manufacturing nuclear fuel. PSOLUTION: The volume of radioactive waste is reduced substantially by dissolving the alumina particles containing uranium in the form of uranium tetrafluoride in an alumina soluble molten salt such as cryolite accommodated in a dissolving tank 1, precipitating a uranium ingredient by converting it into uranium oxide through the oxidization of it, collecting the sediment and filtering it out with a filter 2.
