PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground facility to bury high-level-radioactive wastes in disposal galleries formed by digging under a waste geological disposal facilities which can extremely reduce underground water flowage in laxing areas around peripheries of the disposal galleries which have high water permeability only by the forms of disposal galleries without using conventional plugs.;SOLUTION: On a disposal gallery 1 formed in a rock mass (natural barrier: steady granite part) A in deep underground of an underground facility, an S-shaped or U-shaped gallery part 2 which goes backward against the underground water flow direction, i.e. the transfer path direction F being regardless of nuclear species due to the hydraulic gradient (driving force of the underground water flow) is dug and formed to be connected with the disposal gallery 1. A laxing area 4 of the gallery part 2 which goes backward prevents the flow in a laxing area 3 around peripheries of the upstream disposal gallery 1, thereby generating transfer delay of nuclear species form a waste C from the viewpoint of the underground water flow.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
