PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of optimizing energy consumption of a station (STA) such as, for example, a laptop or palm-top device or cellular phone in a network, especially, WLAN conforming to the IEEE802.11 standard. PSOLUTION: At an access point (AP), an acknowledgement frame including information for informing the station (STA) whether or not a frame is stored is transmitted to the station (STA). The access point (AP) thereby confirms the reception of power saving (PS) polling, in this way, thereby reducing energy consumption as much as possible to efficiently manage energy consumption of the station.
